50/50 Draw Benefiting Men’s Mental Health

Starting this Friday, the Adult Rookie League is raising awareness for men’s mental health.

As we head into the darkest days of the year, it’s important that we start the conversation and erase the stigma behind mental illness. Please join us in this battle.

Update [Dec 9]: By request, e-Transfers are now being accepted as an alternative to cash. If paying by e-Transfer, the address to use is [email protected]. As auto-deposit is enabled, a question and password should not be necessary.

Update [Dec 19]: The winning ticket number is… 🎊 176038 🎊

Half of the proceeds will be taken home by the holder of the ticket, with the other half going towards Movember and their work with mental health.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our first successful #ARLCARES fundraiser since the start of the pandemic.

Remembrance Day

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae

On this, the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, the ARL remembers those who served and those who continue to serve.

Lest we forget.

End of Winter 2017-18 – Thank You

Hello ARL Players,

Thank you to the many ARL players who joined us last night at Pub 21 for the party to close out the 2017/18 Fall/Winter season. There are a lot of people to thank for a great event last night and for a fun season.

It all starts with the drop of the puck so we want to say thank to the referees who do such a good job maintaining order and keeping the ARL games running smoothly. Their unique approach also keeps things light (most of the time). The ARL refs are a great group of people and they are truly a part of the league. They are appreciated.

Next, we would like to thank the timekeepers who show up week after week and sit in cold arena to run the clock. It may look easy but they do it well. For many, it is their first job. They are learning as they go and they are doing it for us. We are lucky to have them. A special thanks to Bruce Johnson for coordinating this group. Team Photos for Winter 2017-18

Hello everyone,

Every season, we all get a day to step out on to the ice and stare right at our in-house volunteer photographer, Michael Durrant, as we try not to blink at the wrong time. For some of you, that day will be this upcoming weekend (Jan 26 and 28) as we take part in the first round of team photos.

The following teams will be having their photos taken before their games: Continue reading “Team Photos for Winter 2017-18”
