What an incredible night! I’ve experienced a lot of exciting moments in my short hockey career, but what I witnessed last night by far surpasses all of that. This idea came to light on Thursday morning. Our expectation and goal was to raise $500 to send to Fort McMurray. We purchased 1000 tickets. By 8:15, we were making a dash to purchase another 600. I always knew this was a great league with a great group of people…last night changed my mind…this is a phenomenal league with a phenomenal group of people.

There are so many to thank, Dar Gosling and Paul Babic, we grabbed you at the last minute to man the table while we all played. Michael Durrant, I saw your camera clicking non stop. Ted Lindsay, Pat Doherty-Baranowski, Jeff Topping and Jim Sleno thank you for taking turns selling tickets, Greg Rollins who started the ball rolling with the Facebook challenge and Iain Russell’s Mother who is visiting from England drew the winning number and last but by far not least, the players who opened their wallets and gave so generously.
