Question... May 14, 2011 -- Regarding our Rookie Division and the Penalty Shot As a reminder, thanks to feedback over the seasons and again this summer, we changed how penalties are managed in our upper division. We removed the penalty shot rule for the upper division. We are not trying to be a normal rec hockey league and we want to always have our rules honour our beginner or less-skilled in the ARL. In order not to have our less-skilled players sit out on power-plays we are asking our team captains not to try to stack the powerplay with their best players but just go with your regular lines. So now after 4 games we want your feedback... please answer the poll below or email us your thoughts and ideas if you have a better or creative idea.
HOT-DOG rule.
For those of you that aren't familiar with this rule, it has been used in the past to try to promote passing, involving all players in the game and eliminating the instance where a better player goes end to end and scores. We have had positive and negative feedback regarding the rule and wanedt to see what you think!
