Burlington Co-ed Adult Rookie Hockey: League Info
The ARL (Co-ed Adult Rookie Hockey League) began its first Summer season May 2008 at the Wave Twin Rinks in Burlington, Ontario. This co-ed league is NON-contact, NON-aggressive, Friendly and NOT for competitive/aggressive players. If you are the type of player that is not able to control their temper or aggressive style of play you will be asked to leave the league. There will not be any compensation. The ARL is open to Adults 21 years and over.
Our league is for rookies but all level of Rookies. Some are just learning the game of hockey and skating. Other players have been playing a while but enjoy the non-competitive, non-aggressive game we play. The league plays Friday nights at the Wave Twin Pad in Burlington. We play on both ice surfaces.
For new players, our ARL has two divisions based on skill levels; Rookie (for level 3+) and Beginner (for level 1-3). Please remember the Rookie division is still a group of Rookie hockey players with a wide variety of skill level and is not for aggressive, rec-style hockey. Our refs are asked to protect our players and goalies by calling all aggressive plays in order to maintain the fun, social ARL-style hockey we are used to. Competitive, aggressive hockey is unacceptable in either of the divisions.
As part of our ongoing commitment to charity in our community, we welcome fund raising ideas from our players and hope to continue to support local charities. The ARL has made charitable donations to the following organizations to date: Sick Kids Foundation, T.E.A.D., Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seals, Heart & Stroke - Hockey for Heart. If you have an idea or would like to volunteer to help us help others, please contact us.
